Recent Developments Signify New Geopolitical Equations in Region: Lebanese Cleric

IQNA – The Jaafarite Mufti of Lebanon said what has happened in recent days reveals new geopolitical equations in the region.

Referring to the Israeli and US aggression on Iran and the Islamic Republic’s retaliatory strikes, Sheikh Ahmed Qabalan said there is no greater glory than the glory of Iranian missiles.

“They remind us of the homeland, meaning the sovereignty, honor, and power that are preserved with these missiles, far from the subjugation of cetrain regional regimes,” he said.

“This decisive war confronts us with two established and emphasized principles: First, the Zionist regime is nothing but a West’s garrison that is being demolished by Iranian missiles and, second, the US, with all its weapon arsenals, only conducted a theatrical attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. This attack had no strategic outcome and was done solely with the aim of buying prestige and avoiding a massive Iranian response.”

The scholar said these developments prove that Iran has become an undeniable power in the region and that the era of American dominance has entered a stage that the American media calls the era of Trump’s old age, emphasizing that the political formation of the region after this war will be in Iran’s favor.

Sheikh Qabalan also underlined that the era of Zionist imperialism has ended forever.

The Middle East today is divided into two parts, he said, adding that one part is the American side that is suffering from the deadly effects of old age, and the second part is the Iranian side that is making history in this region with its formidable missiles without resorting to the support of others.

“With this war, history has spoken its mind that it is possible to imagine the Middle East without the Zionist regime, but it is impossible to imagine it without a powerful Iran. The coming days will be a testament to this.”

The remarks came after US forces targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities early on Sunday, joining the Israeli regime in attacking Iran.

The Zionist regime had launched its aggression on Iran on June 13, killing scores of people, mostly civilians.
